"InuYasha: Affectations Touching Across Time" has everything that made the TV series great ... and then some. The action, the drama, and the comedy are all there and are all used in the amounts that InuYasha fans have come to expect and love. Moreover, the movie actually improves upon the show in one key aspect: it provides a good deal of character development. Now before my fellow Inuyasha fans are up in arms over that 'character development' comment, let me clarify. The show is great, but there is only so much you can do in a half hour, so the movie gives you a better chance than the show does to get to know the characters. Most of the primary characters from the show appear in the movie, with the key exception being Naraku. Also, although he's on the cover, we only get to see Sesshomaru for about 10 seconds! What's up with that? That is ok, though, because Hyoga, Menomaru, Ruri and Hari are all fitting opponents for our heroes; what's more, they possess/hypnotize one companion (sorry, no names!), effectively making him/her/it an enemy throughout most of the movie! Trust me, this film has all the advesaries it needs! Now as far as the dvd itself goes, I give it a 4/5 as well. It is great seeing InuYasha with the clarity that a dvd can offer, and in 5.1 Dolby Digital sound to boot. It is also kind of neat to hear what Inuyasha sounds like in Japan (yes, I always watch the movie in English, but I listened to a couple segments with Japanese audio and English subtitles.) There are also movie promos and art. The "Special InuYasha Footage" is a video synopsis of characters and concepts in the TV series. It should come with a warning however; if you have not seen the show, and you want to be suprised, you may not want to watch this. It does tells you a lot more about the characters, and has some very good information for new viewers. However, it also uses footage from many of the episodes (albeit in Japanese with subtitles) and it introduces characters and events that are not really necessary to understanding the story, but that may take the element of suprise and danger out of the episode pertaining to it. For instance, does the new viewer really need to know about who the Thunder brothers are and exactly what happens to them, who the first three incarnations of Neraku are, what their powers are, what happens with the third incarnation with concerns to the Tetsusaiga, what Inuyasha does to deal with what happens, AND how the "solution" to the problem is in itself a problem for a good amount of time? The movie already does quite a good job of introducing the characters, so don't worry, new viewer; you aren't missing TOO much important material. I had already seen most of the episodes that the special footage culls footage from, but if someone hadn't seen these episodes yet, they might be dissapointed about what the footage reveals. For this reason, I take a point of the DVD's score. Altogether, I give the movie itself a 4/5, and the DVD a 4/5. Not much could be improved, and it is a safe buy for any InuYahsa fan in your family.Read full review

i like the fact that i can see up kagome's skirt in this movie, lol, nr, jk. i really like the fact that it is an awsome movie, dispite the fact that i hate Inuyasha, now. But, anyway, overall Inuyasa the movie, Affections Touching Across Time, was an awsome movie, and i loved the story line, which is what i pay the most attention to in any movie, unless it is King Kong, because that movie sucked worse then a black hole anyway. King Kong can go screw himself......... lol, jk. but if he wants to, i am certainly not going to stop him, and it `twas not beauty that killed the beast, it was a plane.
action packed, dramatic, endearing, and romantic without being mushy. Kept us on the edge of our seat!
