This book is NOT a good book to use for the knowledge of mankind and all the achievements mankind have preformed. This book is nothing more than a very opinionated diatribe about mans sins against the earth, each other as the races or nations relate, and a leftest propaganda piece of garbage. I recommend you not waste your money if ever you see another copy of this book available for sale. What alarms me about the book most is that it appears to be a classroom book and to think our young people are having their heads filled with this lunacy is very troubling to me. The writer can find no real wonder of mans existence on this earth but can only find fault in man throughout our timeline here on this earth. He does not believe there is a God and writes man has been deluded into committing horrors all in the name of some god or another throughout our history of trying to achieve civilization. Only good this I can say about the book is that it was in good physical condition upon arrival and that is about it.Read full review
Well-written history as I've come to expect from the Boorstins. Highly recommended. All of Daniel J. Boorstins's histories are thoughtful and offer interesting insights. Historical events are placed in perspectives that relate them to other events and movements in the grand scale of humankind.
