I have managed to save photo negatives of family, vacations and just about every event that was important to me and mine for over fifty years. Yes I said fifty years. For quite some time I have been experimenting with various negative scanners that will scan both color and black & white negatives to save in digital format. Flatbed scanners were ok but very slow and other name brand types were too expensive to even consider so I was very pleased when PICS2PC type scanners became available. I have been using the PICS2PC scanner for about two months now and to date have scanned over 600 negatives and slides to digital images. I have also scanned both color and black & white photos just to check quality and was well pleased with the results. My children are all grown and have children of their own and I know that when each receives a dvd of photos of themselves from birth thru adulthood they will not believe their eyes. The PICS2PC scanner has made my life richer and fuller by allowing me to embark on a journey back in time thru replacing lost photos of my family. I highly recommend this photo scanner to anyone as it is well built very reliable and the cost is very low.Read full review
This is a very good scanner that performs well on negetives, slides and prints. It is simple and easy to use. Sometimes we noticed a slight shift of focus shortly after inserting a slide, I believe this is due to temperature change when the slide is exposed to the illumination lamp. The machine quickly readjusts the focus so it is not really a problem. I highly recommend this to everyone that wants to transfer negatives, slides and photos to their PC. gzelch
I love this piece of equipment! I bought it as a present for my sister as she has a lot of slides she wants to save. The fact that it saves all differnt size photos PLUS slides PLUS negatives is what really caught my attention. When I got it I had to try it out to make sure it works and it is great!!!! I even put in some old poloraid pictures that are smaller than the frames but it still worked. I would gladly recommend this to a friend and may even need to buy another for her and keep this one for me
I bought it to scan my grandma's slides. It works very well for doing that and it also does pictures very well. A few problems I have with it though are that it is time consuming and feels cheap. The software is good but could be better and sometimes it freezes and has glitches. I would not recommend it at all for scanning more than one tray of slides a day.
This is great unit for taking your old slides and transferring them to a DVD or CD. I have done over 1000 slides and they came out good. The photo editing program is good. The only problem I have is that it doesn't capture the whole slide. It only get about 95% of it. It cuts off a portion around the edges of the slides. Also had a minor problem with the driver installing on Windows 7.
