WARNING!!! Beware of all commentaries! They are just what their name says, a series of comments on the Bible. They are NOT the infallible, inerrant, divinely inspired Word of God--- King James Bible--. "All Scripture is given by inspiration of God,.." 2 Timothy 3:16KJV. This does NOT include the footnotes in the Bible. Some statements to especially watch for in commentaries are: "not in the oldest manuscripts," "a better rendering of the verse would be," "the best Greek Texts read," " the majority of manuscripts read," and etc. The truth is,the majority of the manuscripts read like the King James Bible. ALL the new bibles come from the same corrupt texts. I do,however, like the fact that the author of this commentary does state there is no contradiction between the book of James and Paul's writings. You are saved by grace through faith ALONE,but if you are saved you will produce good works. "..by their fruits ye shall know them." Matthew 7:20KJV Also, be cautious when using a Bible dictionary or a concordance which has the Greek and Hebrew dictionary in the back. Some of these meanings are from corrupted manuscripts. The best dictionary or commentary--the King James Bible itself. Look up verses to see how the word is used in different situations.Pay attention to whom the writer is writing to and for what purpose. I'm not saying , never use any study helps, but be aware of what is being said. You will find error mixed with truth. Even some of the publishers of the King James Bible are are craftily changing some verses to read like the new bibles. Example: 2 Timothy 3:17 should read "throughly furnished" NOT "thoroughly furnished". You can NOT make the Bible say anything when you rightly divide the Word.Read full review
