The Arise series is a newer spin on the GITS franchise. The story is a prequel to the old GITS movies and TV shows with the plot focused more on "action" than philosophy. With this in mind Arise is quite enjoyable. However, don't expect the depth achieved in the GITS movies or GITS: Stand Alone Complex. You will be disappointed. Also, the Major has a new voice actor in this series which can put some viewers off.

G.I.T.S. ARISE Series are amazing works of Japanese Anime and a MUST for true fans of the Manga, films and TV series. These Bluray releases have Japanese and English Dub Audio. Have been looking for these for a long time for my home collection.

The voices need to be the original English people as we have been following this story for 20 years. The original GITS was superb. The GITS Stand Alone Complex and second gig was much better in animation and detail. Not as good as the movies but still great. This leaves a bit to be desired. It is nice to get 2 dvd's in blue ray and standard. I love GITS as it was this that got me into watching adult Manga, but come on guys. We ALL know you can do much better. I would only recommend this after some one had watched the original GITS first.
This will have meaning to G.I.T.S. fans. For me, the ARISE borders series, is somewhat of a prequel to the orig. Ghost in the shell series...and it's extremely good, in my opinion. Worth every penny!!!
