If you have been using Windows for a while, and are used to that, and are wanting to learn something about Linux, then this book is OK for that. But if your brain is hard wired for Windows and have been using that for a long time, and you have a Linux computer that you want to play with, then the only thing about this book that might be useful is the last few pages that have a list of the command line shortcuts. A lot has changed in 13 years with Linux (2006). My reason and argument for getting anything about Linux is that in January of 2020 I will not be using Windows. I have a personal attitude about Microsoft (Big Brother), Linux is free for everyone, it is LESS likely to get any viruses and the latest version of Linux (Linux Mint) can run Some Windows games. There is no trouble getting on the internet either. So making the transition to Linux is not that hard.Read full review
