New Moon takes up right where Twilight left off. This sequel is just as entertaining as the original movie and fans will not be disappointed. Bella (Kristen Stewart) is celebrating her birthday and the others have all planned a party for her. From there things take off and we find out that the Vampires are not the only things that are around town. When he realizes that his presence is endangering the life of Bella, Edward (Robert Pattinson) decides to take off and leave everything he loves behind. This is a very good sequel to the award winning movie Twilight and the viewer will get caught up in the saga just like in the first movie. Additional Case includes: Alex Meraz, Ashley Greene, Billy Burke, Bronson Pelletier, Cameron Bright, Charlie Bewley, Chaske Spencer, Christopher Heyerdahl, Dakota Fanning, and Tyson Houseman If you enjoyed the first movie, you will love this one.Read full review
I'm not a big Twilight fan, I like the movies, but I cannot read the books. I just can't read about high school anymore, since I haven't been there in so long. However, the movies are entertaining enough. The music is great (love their choice of Bon Iver and Lykke Li in this one), and the look is very stylized. It's a beautiful movie, especially the scenes in the woods. I don't think the acting is amazing. I love Kristen Stewart in other movies (like Speak) but I find her to be flat here. Still, that's sort of her thing. I'm hoping she'll become more comfortable in her own skin as she gets older and we'll see even better acting out of her. She's okay as the main character, she's endearing in some ways, but sometimes you lose interest in her own self-loathing. Still, there's something about her that's always made her one of my favorite actresses. She's not a common beauty, and she's not bubbly, but she's interesting because of that. I'm glad they chose her, despite the fact that I don't think she's quite taken this lead the way I think she could (and hope she will!). I have to say though, that the relationship between Bella and Edward to me is cold. I don't feel any connection between the two of them other than a sexual one. They don't really communicate well. I could not find any reason why they liked each other except that they found each other attractive. But when she was with Jacob, I actually felt a connection there. They seemed much more in tune and much more compatible. So, I was of course disappointed that the nice, dependable guy was ditched for the mysterious jerk. But I guess that's why I want to see the next one so bad. I just hope they work on Bella and Edward's awkwardness toward each other. As for the guys, yes, they're good-looking. But I don't think that carries the movie. In my eyes, it's got all the components of a classic chick-flick; It's entertaining, there's not much thought involved, and it's easy to watch, with hunky guys and beautiful scenery. But I think guys will be able to handle it as well because they've added some action, adventure, and danger to the mix. I say this because I know a few guys who won't admit it outright, but were obviously engrossed in the movie when we watched it. I bought it because I like the series and I'm going to collect them all. I can't say whether or not people who aren't Twilight fans like me are going to like it as much as I did. I liked it, and I can only really speak for myself. It was a good movie. I was entertained. And I'm excited to see the next one.Read full review
The story line of it was good. Very similar to the original New Moon book. Unfortunately, the change in directors, changes the two movies a lot. So Bella (lead character) isn't a wimp, or as shy. She is confused about herself when Edward leaves her in the book, but in the movie, she seems so upset, but still strong. Which is what I don't like. I am a pro-am director, and I look at the art of the movies. Certain movies like: Marmaduke, Cat's and Dog's, and Eclipse (just to name a few) don't have art. The animal movies, have horrible jokes, and cheap 2 cent comedy; just to make a quick dollar. Where does Eclipse and New Moon fall into this, they have a bunch of sexy vampire guys all wrapped up in romance. A lot of people would give 5 STARS every time, but only because of the reason I gave. I give 3 STARS (boo me all you want) but I see as if they broke away from the art, and from the book too much. They put sexy guys up their to sell. If they put ugly, average Joe guys like me, would you want to see it. Hell no! So think wisely if you want to spend your money. I bought it because my mother always wanted a copy, so I bought and sent her one.Read full review
I have recently been crowned a Twilight Mom. This distinction is bestowed if your a mom and you like Twilight. My 13 year old daughter got me started. Honestly, I am a fantasy movie lover and Twilight is played often at my home for two reasons: ok background music and beautiful scenery. I just like soft noise in the background, so New Moon suffices. It's low key on violence, no bad words, the character Edward is a 20th century gentleman, lead character Bella shows you can survive after a heartbreak and the main family; the Cullens, live the motto "Be better than you're suppose to be". So this is what I hope my daughter is picking up, but like most girls she probably can't get past the beauty and bulging biceps of the young actors. The acting has improved over the first movie and if you believe real hard in the premise "vampires are sexy", even undeserving Twilight Moms can endure it for 90 min.Read full review
I've been collecting the complete Twilight Saga collection and New Moon helps tie the story together. It isn't my favorite one, but is needed to tell the story. I've been shopping at different places for bargains and I now have a complete set. I've even tied the whole thing together with Vampires Suck, a comedy based on the Twilight Saga. I guess there are easier ways to get this collection, but I draw a small disability pension and eBay has helped me get the whole set.
