I love Patricia Cornwell and have read most of her works at least once. I was looking for something to read and decided to reread her novels from the beginning. I began searching Ebay and found her books one here, two there. This particular novel is part of the Kay Scarpetta series and once again the Medical Examiner/Heroine is out solving another string of murders with her sidekick police detective Marino. Great pager turner! This novel can be read as part of the series, but can also stand on it's own.
I'm still reading this book (about 3/4s the way through it now, but so far, very good on the suspense and not too heavy on the gore that usually fills Cornwell novels. It's the continuing story of Kay Scarpetta's arch nemesis Temple Brooks Gault and his obsession with Dr. Scarpetta and everyone around her. It will keep you going to the next chapter just to see what is going to happen next.
My husband's favorite author is Patricia Cornwell. He hasn't read all the Scarpetta novels yet, but he will. I liked the price for 2 books ,let alone the fact, that it turned out he hadn't read either one yet. The books are in fair, legible condition for paper backs that old.
I got it for a good price and I needed it to go with the rest of the authors collection I have. It was in good used condition. I like to find books for a decent price used rather than pay full price.
Patricia Cornwell is amazing. I love this book and all her other books. The villain in this book could be the guy living next door to you. And we all know people like him. The heroine, Dr. Kay Scarpetta is the women we all can look up to, and yet still human.
