Select random (secret) completion routes to gain more points. Like Catan but with trains rather than roads. Game gets really challenging with 3 or more players vying for necessary track routes to complete individual quests. Players can block your intended route forcing re-routes. When ready to graduate to more challenge - Rails and Sails adds ship route map to original train route....

I love the variety, and replay ability. Every game is different, with different outcomes. Love how you keep score. There is drama, as in, will you get blocked trying to complete a long route? Yet there are ways to accomplish your goal, even when blocked. Had extended family here, and all really enjoyed it. Great game for all ages.
