This movie is the best Wayne and O'Hara movie of all the times they stared together. Filmed on location and in color, great story line made it the best picture in 1952. John Ford's telling of this story will always be a classic and one of his best.

This movie is essentially an excellant movie and well worth watching and owning, with a warning. Be ABSOLUTELY sure you're buying a legitimate U.S. MANUFACTURED copy. This is the second copy I bought on ebay and only slightly better than the first which was from S. Korea. Color seems super-saturated, particularly the greens making everything seem very dark. It was only after I decided to watch the movie from a streaming that I could really see how bad the two I have disks of the movie really are.

One of my all time favorite movies. It's a refreshing role for John Wayne, not the typecast westerns he is known for. His chemistry with Maureen O'Hara is so engaging and makes this a wonderful movie full of interesting and funny Irish characters.

Not the biggest fan of older movies but this one is a special case. It was truly one of John Wayne's better movies and as dramatic as it was it really offered a funny side of life in the 1920's Ireland.

It's a great classic film - unfortunately this DVD was clearly made from an old print, a dupe of a dupe, and does not have the full technicolor restoration you see in some of the special edition DVDs of "The Quiet Man." I bought this as a replacement for an excellent DVD I had lost - and was very disappointed with this as a replacement.
