Brand new theory & approach: diet recommendations = new-found well-being!
Get ready to look at thyroid disease in a whole new way! I was diagnosed 18.5 years ago. I have NEVER felt as good as before I was diagnosed. I've had 7 endocrinologists in the Boston-New York area. I haven't even finished reading this book yet, but changed some of my diet as recommended, and can see some mild improvement already. This may not be for everyone, and don't expect your average doctor or endo to recognize/use/follow this approach (yet). But after suffering as long as I have, trying as many med changes as I have, I didn't have anything to loose by just starting to make some dietary ajustments. I wish all thyroid patients, and people who love them, all doctors and their staff who treat them, and anyone else involved should be required to read and TRY this approach. The patient has nothing to loose and EVERYTHING to gain (his/her wonderful life). Used in moderation without going to some of the extreems that some of the patients in the book have done, this is a doable, not harmful assist for many thyroid patients, that apparently works!Read full review

One of the most life changing books I have ever encountered in all my life!
Dr. Kharrazian has, without a doubt, challenged the way thyroid disease and dysfunction should be treated. He has systematically laid out a most convincing argument against the &quot;one size fits all&quot; treatment paradigm that unfortunately has prevailed in western medicine. He uses science the way science is intended to be used, to search out the truth. He does not rely on emotion and feeling to grab the readers interest, instead he uses beautifully explained and easy to read physiology of the thyroid and all it&apos;s contributing organs and hormones. If you have even the slightest feeling that you or a loved one may have some type of thyroid issue, and you do not purchase and read this fantastic book, you will have made, in my opinion, one of the most awful decisions you have ever or will ever make, with regards to your health...I implore you to purchase this well written, insanely cross-referenced and sited book, &quot;Why do I Still Have Thyroid Symptoms?&quot; by Dr. Datis Kharrazian Dr. Walter Crooks fixmythyroidnow.comRead full review

Excellent book. A life saver and MUST HAVE for thyroid disease sufferers.
If you have been told you have an underactive thyroid this book is a MUST HAVE and a Life saver. Well written. Easy to understand. There's a few techincal things in there that you can bring to your doctor to have them work with you on,(IF you are lucky enough to find a doctor to work with you) The amount of Mis-information in the medical community is astounding. THIS ONE BOOK answered questions I have had FOR YEARS. (and my doctor agreed the info was sound. Better late than never, I guess) I just wish I could have found out sooner. Many thanks to the author for bringing this much needed info to the public.

Answers for people like me! Hooray!
While I have not finished this book yet, it has definitely helped me understand my hypothyroidism better. In the last three years since my diagnosis, I have struggled with feeling completely well and this book has helped shed light on why that may be so. It was the push I needed in leaving one practitioner and searching for one that would look further for the best treatment for me. I think I've found that person. This book was exactly what I needed and I have recommended it to others struggling with the same problem.

I have never seen a book to equal the quality of information in this book !
My doctor said she thought she understood thyroid until she read this book. Hence, I bought it. It turns upside down the traditional medical understanding of thyroid & its functions & disfunctions. It is a most comprehensive look at the whole thyroid issue. While it is a crash course on physiology, it is very readable & understandable to the layman. It covers so many aspects & angles of the interacting organs that it would be very helpful to almost anyone, regardless of their thyroid condition. I would highly recommend this book to anyone with any kind of thyroid issue to read before they sign up for the treatment usually offered by the conventional doctors! Thyroid may not be the primary focal point. It is part of a complicated maze of interacting functions that affect each other. This book helps clarify this.Read full review
