The Merit-Pyro-Lifelike-Lindberg Gladiator kit yields as nice a Gladiator as the Roden kit, for less money, and for all of the last 25 years, you get the later version with a 3-blade prop. The build is reasonably clean and easy. You will have a couple of pin marks and sinkholes, but the overall fit is not troublesome. Rigging is easy if you bore through and find the instructions from an earlier edition of the kit. Wing and strut alignment is positive because the cabane struts are made in one piece per side. And there's this plethora of aftermarket decals as Gladiators: Sweden, Norway, Finland, Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, Portugal, Egypt, etc. With negligible extra effort, you can add an arrestor cable and make a Sea Gladiator like the three that defended Malta.
