In this book, Former President Jimmy Carter, details his memories, impressions and perspectives on his boyhood years in a rural south Georgia community. His vivid recollection of details about his family, people in his community, the farm and life in general are a priceless window onto an extraordinary life and a bygone era and a way of life that has been long forgotten. Any lover of Jimmy Carter, history, sociology, farm management or just a flat-out great story will be enthralled from beginning to end. I have read four of his books and this is by far my favorite. By the way, I think I liked it!

An Hour Before Daylight is a really well-written book which provides an interesting history lesson with every page. As you read this book you are taken back into the days of the great depression and you realize that not even a future president had it easy in those days. It isn't easy to believe the hardships suffered during that era but this book brings it alive.
Very good aspect of or President of the United States, Jimmy Carter from the Greatest State, the 13th Colony, GEORGIA. Excellent read, not dry, easy read. Takes one through the life and time of Jimmy as his life unfolded in Plains Georgia during his boy hood.
