I bought this book because I have a yeast sensitivity and I originally purchased William Crook's first edition Yeast Connection a few years ago and found it helpful when I was first learning about Candida related health problems. This edition is definitely worth purchasing if you are a woman even if you have his first edition, because there are specific sections related to women's reactions to yeast. There is a lot of overlap with his original edition, but the book is set up differently and has a ton more updated information. If you are picking between the two books, pick this one. There is even a section for both men and women and some recipes to help you get going. If you are a vegetarian, like myself, the recipes aren't very useful, but you can modify them as well. The only thing I have not enjoyed about the two books are the numerous case stories talking about experiences. If you like this kind of thing, then you will be fine, but I am more of a fact only person, and I tend to skip over all the individual stories since a lot of them I cannot specifically relate to. Over all, on a scale from 1-10, 10 being the highest, I would give this book an 8 if you think you may have a yeast related problem and just learning about it.Read full review
Very helpful if the info you need is particular to female health. Dr. Crook has written several in a series about yeast, each book geared for different patient. Not as helpful as I thought for info about yeast in general.
