I have had one of the consumer grade for about 5 years before it died: this PROFESSIONAL grade tool is very solid feeling, cuts like a dream, and in all ways looks and works GREAT. Only time will tell, but I expect this to last many years longer than the not-all-that-much-cheaper consumer grade models. Love it.

Has the adjustable blade, which is so necessary when blending in and getting a "line" out that removeable blades just can't do. The adjustment range is almost infinite. Yes, these do get hot, especially after you've done about 4 or 5 haircuts in a row. The Wahl color-coded plastic guards work very well too, if you have to use guides for certain cuts.
