I only wish I had purchased this item much sooner....the item is a must - have for fans of the original The Avengers tv series from the '60s, and for Diana Rigg fans in her most famous tv role....the dvds are "near high definition" in video quality, and are an excellent addition to any fan's Avengers dvd collection....all 51 Emma Peel episodes are included on 16 black and white and color episode dvd discs..... A & E Home Video studio may or may not release these episodes on blu-ray disc in the future, but these are definitely a "class act" from A & E !! Awesome dvds !
Very big fan of the series it's great to have the complete set because all of the Emma Peel era is here at your finger tips. I think this was one of the very best sixties Spy shows. Even though this series was filmed in the sixties you can still watch them today because they still stand up in this day and age. It's also great to take a look back at the style the sixties were so rich with. If you love the Avengers as I do get this set you will not be sorry, I promise you that.
As a pubescent child in the mid 60's, staying up late on Friday night to glimpse the comely Mrs. Peel was an event much anticipated. Radiant in leather with a knowing twinkle in her eye, she cut a memorable figure on the 19" Motorola. MMMM, Emma... Although much of the tongue in cheek humor went over my head, it planted the seed of appreciation for all things absurd. Sure, by today's standards the production values are on the cheddar side but that's part of the charm when viewing vintage TV. My recommendation to anyone who enjoys early BBC programming, this is a must have set for your collection.
