I love Lidia and her style of Italian-American cooking! La Cucina di Lidia is her first book and it includes many personal stories, memories and photos of her childhood in Istria, which located on Italy's Adriatic coast. The recipes may not have much of an universal appeal, as they are of old world fare, but you will not be disappointed in the ones that you do choose to try! The Polenta with Fontina and Mushrooms or Shrimp, Stuffed Breast of Veal, and Chocolate Zabaglione Cake are just an example of the great recipes included.
Being Croatian this is a very traditional style cook book.
