This is a collection of obituaries that appeared in the New York Times-but it is really more than that. These are little snapshots of people who lost their lives on Sep. 11. I purchased this book to share with my class in an effort to put a human face on this tragedy. It honors the memory of these everyday people who were happy living their lives. Each short memory contains a small black and white photo of the individual. The book contains other black and white photos of that terrible day. It iss an excellent book but printed on paper that is not highest quality. I recommend purchase as a historical treasure trove of what was lost that day.
Great Book. Still reading through it. Awesome stuff.

This book is simply about “Heroes”, the people that persisted in 9/11.

Beautiful book and an excellent way to educate the young children of America of why these people had to die that day in NY. It may just be a book of vignettes to some, but for those who actually had a hand in bringing to justice those who sucker-punched America on 9/11/01, its a portfolio of memories to know that these roughly 3000 persons did not have to die in vain.

Like the fact that all who perished on 9/11/01 were profiled, accompanied by their photos. Unfortunately, I knew someone who died on that day and was able to find his picture. This book impacted me greatly ... still difficult to realize that so many people, those in the Twin Towers, those at The Pentagon, those on various planes, and those brave and valiant police officers, firemen and others were killed as a result of terrorists flying those planes into the buildings. Quite sobering to look through the book, BUT made me realize that all of us can be here today and gone tomorrow. One thing is for sure; the United States of America is forever changed because of the events of September 11th.
