YES, it's Ed Wood's five most (in)famous features, and YES, I rated it as EXCELLENT! Wood's enthusiastically incompetent works are so enjoyably bad, so charmingly sincere, so passionately inept that one cannot help but love them. Here are Plan Nine From Outer Space, Glen or Glenda, Bride of the Monster, Night of the Ghouls, and Jailbait all on DVD (individual discs in beautifully printed cases), all in one little pink box. What else could you want? Well, the people at Image have also provided a 112 min. documentary, The Haunted World of Edward D. Wood Jr., featuring interviews with Wood's company players, family, and friends. The Plan Nine disc also features a brilliant documentary from the early 90's, 'Flying Saucers Over Hollywood: The Plan Nine Companion'. I've had that documentary on VHS since it was first released, and it's a real treat to have it on DVD now, clean and bright. The picture and audio for the movies are uniformly crisp, clean, and beautifully mastered. The only exception is the audio on the Haunted World documentary. It's just poorly done -- it's not the disc mastering, it's the original mix/audio editing which is to blame. I think, in trying to be clever, they made it 'dynamic' and therefore very jumpy, with abrupt shifts from loud to quiet (often in the same given scene) for most of the film. Music swells waaaay too loud for dialogue at times, and sound effects often clink too loud but are then unhearable later. It doesn't ruin the documentary but it is an irritating flaw and makes you keep your thumb on the remote at all times while viewing. BUT, the audio for the rest of the set (the other documentary and all the original films) is just about excellent! If you know someone who already 'gets' and loves the crazy world of Ed Wood, this is a fine gift. If you know someone who NEEDS to be introduced to the crazy world of Ed Wood, this is the set that'll change their lives. Now... where's my angora sweater...?Read full review

I bought this as a gift for a friend because we both share a similar sense of humor. Ed Wood has consistently been ranked as "The Worst Director" in film history. Watch these films and you will see they underrated him. He is worse than that!!!! His films are so BAD, that they are (unintentionally) entertaining in a humorous way. This I knew when I purchased them and believe me, he does not disappoint.

A great collection of Ed Wood's famously bad movies.I've watched them all many times over the years, and am sure I'll watch them all again before this year's end. Some movies are worse than others, but all are seriously fun to watch.
