For use in my BEDROOM I am very satisfied with having a pair of VE-5M as FRONT speakers and have the VE-5C as my center channel speaker. I also have an 8 inch sub and two smaller speakers from a different manufacturer for rear surround sound. The system sounds great as a 5.1 system for Home Theater use and very good for music listening in my BEDROOM. For "my serious music listening" I use my TOWER speakers in a LARGER room just for stereo listening.
very good speakers for surround sound or a bookshelf system. I use them as my front surround speakers and they work great. Crisp highs and strong mids with a little punch to go with it. Keep in mind that the stereo you use makes all the difference. On my pioneer 5.1 system they are very mild and on my two channel sony they are little power houses.
For the price and size the Cerwin Vega VE-5M speakers pack a pretty good punch. Highs are good bass is ok for the size of the midrange speaker. Very heavy would recommed a good quailty hanger if your going to mount on a wall.
I am not an audiophile but I love loud music and movies, I bought these to replace the Yamaha satellites that came with the 5.1 surround reciever. When I first turned on the system and got them setup I was so happy with the sound at loud volumes, that was before I realized the subwoofer was off. After I turned it on and set up the speakers properly. I am ecstatic about how good the sound is. The Yamaha's sound good at low volume but lost something at higher volumes. These do not they just get louder and sound great.
I like the fact that the speakers have a decent frequency range. They respond very well to the high wattage. They are small and don't take up a lot of space. You can't beat the price for 100.00 US dollars a pair.
