This was a book my grandparents had in their little glass bookcase for many years. It was, and is, a collection of anecdotal baseball stories from the early part of BB history....about up to 1915, or so. I was amazed to find a copy of it on E-bay, and quickly bought it, since I had long lost my grandparent's copy years ago. The stories are supposed to be true, although some test the limits of reality, like the story of the blind outfielder for whom officials scented the ball so he could track it down while playing Right Field! At any rate, I am now reliving those wild stories, most of which last less than a single page in the book. While I plan to give the book to my now baseball-playing grandson, I can still enjoy it myself. Great book...great memories...great deal.
I like it but it largely depends on whether you're a baseball fan...or a sports fan.
