This is a very fine documentary of a huge battle in WW2. It portays the Allies getting caught with their pants down, and the shellacking they took for it. Had the Germans been able,as the movie points out, get to the gas they needed for their panzers then they could have taken Antwerp, and the War might well have had a different ending. It has real live interviews with real live vets who were there, people who made the history, not just the next generation who--with all due respect, wrote about the history. (Ambrose excepted, along with many others)For anyone interested in this mammoth battle I would highly recommend this dvd. It's worth the price and you will value it for your collection.
This is typical of the AE documentaries, excellent! Well written and the story leads in into the DVD using historic facts and interviews with the actual veterans that were there. The archive photos and footage is wonderful. I had this on tape and bought it because the tape must be getting thin from all the viewings. This is a favorite of mine and if you are a WWII history buff like me it will become a favorite of yours too. Highly recommended, A KEEPER! good documentary, shows the tough environment for the U.S. troops, my dad was there, so maybe I'm a little more interested than most, The U.S. took great casualties but still held, for the most part and eventually pushed the nazis back to Germany
