Fay Vincent, former MLB commisioner, writes from interviews with baseball players from the '40s and '50s. He is a very accomplished writer, the stories are insightful and enlightening and engaging. I especially enjoyed the story told about Babe Ruth, Leo Durocher, the gold watch and the 5 $100 bills. Another fav is the Hank Greenberg story about his visit to the opposing team's dugout after a game. Great stories, great memories and a fascinating look back at a time that no longer exists, one that will never return. If you are a fan of baseball, read this book!!!
