PLEASE take 5 seconds to rate this review! This book is one of the few books about politics that I have read and that still has a lasting impression on me. The reason that it has had such an impact on my personal views is because it proposes that we as Aericans have been allowed to fear so much that we are willing to give up small freedoms in order that certain persons in power can gain even more power. In this book, there are a myriad of examples, facts, quotes, and citations that will compel any reader to think twice about the agenda in the White House. Does the current presidency have our best interests in mind or are we the pawns in a game of power and greed? The book is decent overall, but the Bush bashing gets a little repetitive. I felt like saying, OKAY! I get it! Bush isn't to be trusted," but Gore persists with the evidence and convincing. If you like books that point to a conspiracy theory without saying it out loud (and at one point Gore takes the time to say that he isn't suggesting a conspiracy theory while going the extra mile to convince the reader that there is something sinister afoot), then you will love this book.Read full review
