Sprayed as directed one full bottle on a clean, fabric jacket that was ocean waterproof. Dried and wore a few times in two weeks. Then the rains came. That was a cold, miserable day. But, I was fishing so I was happy. Just disappointed in the product.

This is supposed to be "The Stuff" to buy for outdoor gear to help it stay waterproof. I always thought that if something was "waterproof" that it should stay that way. Aparently Gortex clothing depends on a bit of extra water repellencey from products that treat the outer surface of the fabric. These treatments wear off after a while and then instead of being repelled instantantiously, the water sits on the surface of the fabric and is absorbed. Gortex and similar fabrics are great at breathing and shedding water but no matter what they tell you in the store or catalogue, they need to have the outer shell treated with a water repellent on a seasonal basis. The only garments that are truley waterproof are made out of vinyl. That's why comercial fishermen and crabbers wear it. Only problem is that it doesn't breathe.Read full review
