This album is a joy for listening. The play list consists of all classic blues tunes. Jimmy Rogers' All Stars Band is made up of Mick Jagger & Keith Richards, Eric Clapton, Taj Mahal, Stephen Stills and others. The stars are featured artists on different tunes. I really enjoyed myself listening to this album.

ok - where to start? yes, the songs on this cd have been done many times before BUT NOT WITH THIS AUTHORITY AND PUNCH...if you know chicago blues, jimmy rogers was a founding member of muddy waters original blues combo that formed after ww2...now, take a look at the guest artists on this cd and the rhythm section that played with jimmy for many years (j.h. on the bass drum cover is one of them)...i am listening to it right now, my foot is tapping and i am going to go downstairs and play bass and guitar along with this cd...it really is a great training tool for musicians who want to learn the blues...the only song that falls flat is the last one with led zeps page and plant...i was expecting the song - boom-boom out go the lights - to be more of a stop time piece, like john lee hookers version...whatever...this is still a fine and final outing for mr. rogers (he passed away shortly before it was released - RIP)...i would buy it again in a heartbeat!Read full review
If you like blues, this is a great CD. Great supporting cast including some great harmonica on some great driving beats. Guest vocals are great, but I’ll let that be a surprise.

Wow this is such a legendary band that also includes Jeff Healey Lowell Fulson Stephen Stills and Robert Plant. It is intended to be a tribute jamm session but sadly ended in Jimmy Rogers passing but what an outstanding send off! Jimmy Rogers was one of the most under rated but most influential Chicago blues innovators. Originally with Muddy Waters and Little Walter to be in the Muddy waters Band. He broke ground with many of his guitar techniques that any of the rock stars involved say was one of their biggest influences. Get this CD because it sizzles from the beginning to end. Wish I could find it on vinyl but I will just be happy that at least I have a copy of this!If anyone gets a copy get in contact with me at my E-Bay store Albumholics Audiophiles Anonymous.
