I have a set of MacGregor M455 graphite irons and I wanted to purchase some woods made by the same manufacturer. I had tested this club at golf shops and felt very comfortable with them. I really enjoy the graphite shaft and the lightweight of the club. I have enjoyed playing with this club and would recommend that if you are looking for, or considering the purchase of a fairway wood, that you try his club out. You will not be disappointed. I have played an older set of MacGregor irons and persimonite woods for the past 25 years and really enjoyed playing with them also. In my book MacGregor is one of the top names in golf equipment.
I liked the feel and appearance of this club. The standard shaft is adequate but slightly stiffer than most Regular flex. OFF the turf with my swing it plays low and long, perhaps too low for a 7 wood. Off a Tee it plays higher but not enough so. I can work the ball with this wood. I was hoping to use it on 155-165 par threes and stop it on the green but it is too long and/or the ball lands and then skips over those distances. It does advance the ball down the fairway very well.
I bought this because I was looking for a strong 3 wood. It was a smaller more compact head than I was looking for and also not very forgiving. I ended up selling it again after not much use. oak51
NICE LOOKING CLUB,EASY TO SQUARE UP. NOT REAL HAPPY WITH DISTANCE OR ACCURACY. MORE OF A LOW HANDICAPPER'S CLUB, WHO LIKES SMALLER CLUBHEADS. I CHANGED TO A HYBRID 3 AND 4 IRON AND GOT RID OF ALL FAIRWAY WOODS EXCEPT MY 13* STRONG TAYLORMADE 3 WOOD. THAT'S WHAT WORK FOR ME
I decided to buy this club so I can hit the golf ball a greater distance. I like the shaft and degree on this club.
