It will never happen to Me!
It never hurts to be aware, especially when it comes to safety for me and my family. With the economy the way it is and the precarious position in the global market of the american dollar, plus the news of worsening solar flares, I want to be prepared and this book is a great help on how to do that. Even for a minor event I want to be safe and as comfortable as possible. The suggestions in the book are very good on for this purpose. It isn't about war survival, just basic things for emergency situations, and the book delivers basic advise. Good read!

A definate for beginners, and a good review for more experienced folks.
This lady knows her stuff. There are a lot of publications out there taking advantage of the current world and local situations. This one could care less about current events, it just wants to impart knowledge. It is geared towards inexperienced people, and it does a very good job of making disaster prep something to learn from. I already had a background in a lot of the issues, but I still learned from this book. This lady needs a show so she can help folks understand just how fragile our lives can be.

A fantastic guide for anyone desiring to be better prepared for emergencies
This book gives you simple, straight-forward, step-by-step instructions in plain english, using items you generally either already have on hand, or can be obtained easily from local sources. It explains not only the how-to-do-it of food storage and survival, but the why-to-do-it-this-way, so you can understand the importance of every step. It helps the beginner by providing an idea of the amounts of food and water needed per person, per day, in emergency situations, so you'll know how much to set aside for yourself and/or your family. The included checklists can help one get organized and stay on track by guiding you through the process. I found it interesting and educational, as well as very useful.
