I always look back at my childhood, and I was a huge fan of the Disney movies, but I was also enamored with the obscure movies that it takes a true memory to remember. For example I loved the signing chicken from "Rock-A-Doodle," or the animals adventures in "Secret of Nimh," and "Once Upon a Forest." However when it came to Little Nemo, I had to go really in depth the have people remember this one. "You know, the boy who falls asleep, and travels around on his flying bed with trolls and stuff, as this dark ooze is taking over the dreamworld." People had trouble remembering it, but the ones who did, and were privileged enough to see it as a child, after some persuasion, would remember and fall back in love with it, I can't tell you how glad I am to see that this childhood love of mine has come to DVD. I immediately plan to have a Little Nemo party and invite all my friends to it, so that they can watch it with me. A great film for children and adults alike, it tells a magical story. Two thumbs up, both pinkys, and the middle fingers in the air for this classic. I recommend this film to everyone!Read full review
Little Nemo was arguably the first cartoon I saw that had Japanese animation involved. Honestly, it filled me with so many emotions as a young child that I've remembered it ever since. So it was amazing when I found out that they had re-released it on DVD. So I had to have it. When I received it (which it was promptly delivered and in perfect order and condition, still wrapped) I and my friends watched it that night. To my immense pleasure I found that it was still just as good as then -- the character depth was fun without being tedious, the animation and soundtrack worked together well to create this animated movie. I highly suggest it as one of my favorite two animated movies -- the other being Disney's classic "The Fox & the Hound". It's one of those movies that simply proves that animated movies only get better with age.Read full review
I absolutely love this movie. I used to rent it from Albertson's all tyhe time when I was little. About 5 years ago I was reminded of the movie somehow but have since been trying to remember the title of the movie. It has literally bugged me for that long. I remembered that the boys' name was Nemo but every time I typed that into a search engine Finding Nemo came up, of coarse. When I tried to tell others about it they said it sounded to weird and that it was probably a dream I had when I was little. I started to believe it was a dream too. I recently learned about eBay neighborhoods and decided to join a few. First, Manga. Next, Anime. When I joined the anime neighborhood I scrolled down to see what had been reviewed and there it was. Little Nemo: Adventures In Slumberland. I immediately started looking for it. I ended up paying a little too much but I am extremely satisfied with the fact that I have it now. Excellent movie. Everyone should see it. Young and old alike. eBay Rules!!! Peace out!Read full review
This is what I can call an enjoy, accessible fantasy movie. It's not a Lord of the Rings trilogy, or a Harry Potter series. This is one movie that is practically flawless, and can be enjoyed by an eight year old or an eighty year old. Its solid plotline and diverse characters are what really sells the movie. The animation is a pleasure to watch. The reason I give this a four out of five is due to the scenes added from the original. I once had the VHS version, and maybe I am biased, but I thought the scenes added to the DVD were highly unnecessary. They're short and unless you haven't seen the VHS, you would know it. The movie was great enough to begin with. So my suggestion would be to buy the VHS version where there is no "cheese" added to the already-fantastic movie.
Little Nemo in general is a good movie. It has it moments of complete weirdness and at times will make you question what the heck did this scene have to do with anything but its fun to watch. The songs are fun but unmemorable. The animation for being from the 1960's is done really well. You might cringe a little though if you're watching this with kids as one of the clowns smoke (a lot). There is some mild violence against the creatures of Nightmare Land (the enemy of Slumber Land). But its a good children's movie overall.
