I purchased this book because a web friend was reading it at Christmastime. She sparked an interest in me when she told me about it. I love stories about Christmas any way! The author, Jeff Guinn, takes you on a journey that lasts for almost 2000 years and continues today. He tells you about religion, history and fairytale in one book. A book you would enjoy reading with your children and grandchildren. You begin your journey on Dec 1st and finish it on the 24th.... reading a chapter a day. The book tells you the true meaning of Christmas through the life and eyes of St. Nicholas (Santa Claus)... the Christmas of the birth of the Christ Child, the sharing of love, the giving of gifts and yourself and believing in things you cannot see. This is a story you will not be disappointed in... so get it now and read it with the family this Christmas. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!Read full review
This book is excellent! For anyone that still would love to believe that there should still be the wonder of Santa. It is filled with real history to revolve around the story of Santa. Very disciptive of places in history. Giving reader a chance to picture the setting well. Easy reading for Childern on perhaps 5th or 6th grade reading level for understanding of history and places mainly. But can be told to younger children. If you can find it on Ebay for a good price it it well worth the money. I fould mine with shipping for under 10 dollars. If not go to you local Book store and ask!But you will pay arould 20-25 dollars.
Love thos book at Christmas. 25 chapters, read a chapter a day as the holiday approaches. This is my FAVORITE book now. It ties in fun, history, magic, and holiday spirit. I can't say enough. I have all three Chronicles and i have the first two on audible.

It's a very imaginative book and very well thought out. It answers kids questions about how Santa lives so long and how he can get to everyones home on Christmas Eve. It also gives you some inside information on Mrs. Claus and how they met and how she has managed to live as long as Santa even though she is several hundred years younger. I bought it for my daughter-in-law to read and keep to read to my new grandson in years to come. The sequel to this book is good as well, but not quite as original.
I bought this book after hearing about it from a local paper review. I read a chapter a day from Dec. 1st to the 24st as it suggests. I found the historical information to be quite intriguing & very well written within the story line. I never found myself bored with this story & although it was very much a Christian story line, it did touch on some of the other aspects of the holiday season. I intend to reread it again next December, & have talked enough about it to my family that they have indefinitely borrowed my copy!
