Her breakthrough album, from incredibly her first teen year. Gosh, what a voice, and what energy! It’s a great country-rock-pop album, and introduces us to the fabulous tune “Blue,” which I can lister to seven times in a row.

Lee Ann Rimes won the 1997 Grammy Award for Best New Artist. This is a good album which showcases her nice voice. 1. Blue 2. Hurt Me 3. One Way Ticket (Because I Can) 4. My Baby 5. Honestly 6. Light In Your Eyes, The 7. Talk To Me 8. I'll Get Even With You 9. Cattle Call - (with Eddy Arnold) 10. Good Lookin' Man 11. Fade To Blue
This earlier LeAnn Rimes CD, really shows her wide vocal range! The old country sound, complete with yodelling in her voice, is really enjoyable. This is a great first choice CD of this artist's work. I'll be able to hear her musical growth as I buy newer releases.
This CD is just pure, pure, pure. I'm not a huge country fan but bought this cassette (yes - cassette) for my husband way back in the 1990's and am updating some "oldies but goodies" in my collection. This collection of songs is wonderful, from the pop ("One Way Ticket") to the steamy ("My Baby") to the old-timey ("Cattle Call with Eddie Arnold) you get it all and cannot help but be bewildered about how a teenager can sings these songs with the heart she did. There is not a bad song in the batch - ENJOY. It's a classic.
Frankly, I liked her early recordings, but not so much after that. I happened to hear her version of Eddy Arnold's Cattle Call (with him doing part of it himself) and was amazed. I then ordered this CD and, again, liked most of the early songs. I probably wouldn't buy any other of her albums, primarily because I don't really like much of the current country music from anybody. There are some exceptions, but not many.
