Was so excited about this, Good series I read when I was younger. However it was mailed in a thin plastic envelope that left the corners of the books totally dinged up and part of the spine torn.

As usual, Garth Nix does an excellent job of writing for young readers. The plot is not as sharp as the Abhorsen series, but is very good. I would recommend it highly to the 10-12 yr. olds. His other series, the Keys to the Kingdom, is about one reading level above this one and consequently more detailed and emotionally complex. I plan to purchase the entire series of the Seventh Tower for my children, as it becomes available.
