I usually get my light reading material from my local library's free paperback section which is how i was introduced to Vince Flynn in the first place. His first book, Term Limits, is in the James Bond/Jason Bourne fictional vein, a definite fun read (especially if you believe most politicians are close to if not complete ego maniacs) and an easy read. Just something to pass the time in an "if only" way. His second book, Transfer of Power, takes up the adventures of super counter terrorist Mitch Rapp (a Jack Bauer kind of guy) which at this time extend to six books and expanding. The next book, The Third Option, unfortunately wasn't on the shelf (even though all the others were) and since I did not want to have to read the books out of order (they build on each other as a continuing story line) I came to 'old reliable' eBay where you can buy almost anything, almost any time. Lo and behold I found the book I wanted at a reasonable price (even if more than FREE!) and bid and won. Had I not won it I could have picked it up for free two days later when it appeared on the free-book shelf. But it might never have and I don't have that kind of patience.Read full review
I was given a Vince Flynn book for Christmas and after reading it I wanted to read all the others he has written. I found out that the order does matter because of a chronological building of characters and story line. I have a used book store in my town, but they were out of this title and it was the 3rd book in the series. My son, husband, nephew and I were all reading these in order and we decided to purchase it from Ebay and get it ASAP so we could continue the series. My nephew was almost ready for his college spring break and was hoping he could read it and the next one over the break. It came on the 2nd day of his spring break and in turn we have all read it. We enjoy the exciting counter-terrorism plots and the characters, especially the awesome, Mitch Rapp the best counter-terrorist spy ever! He single-handedly can do the most amazing missions. We wish Mitch Rapp was real...our country would be in safe hands. We haven't been disappointed with any book, in fact, the plot gets better each book. There is only one book that we don't have yet, the newest one and I plan to go to Ebay today and start looking for it...we'll want it soon! We look forward to purchasing more books by Vince Flynn in the future!Read full review
My first Flynn book was TERM LIMIT which I picked up by accident (thought I had another author) but after reading it was hooked on his factual knowledge of depicting Washington DC and his knack for details. I still have trouble with the use of the "F" word and feel nothing would be lost by omitting it but Flynn really has a creative writing side that I enjoy. I would recommend trying to read his books in order since many references to characters are from previous writings. Great read!!
I bought this book because it was one in the Mitch Rapp series. It is an excellent read. Vince Flynn is probably one of my favorite authors in the spy genre. He is compareable to Tom Clancy. I think this was an awesome read and I have no regrets in getting it. I would highly recommend this book or any other by Vince Flynn.
Another excellent Vince Flynn book. I bought it as it was the only one I had not yet read, other than the very newest. It was great. I was sorry when it ended, compares equally great with all the other Vince Flynn books. Few can equal the quality and intensity and the intricacy of the plots. I only wish there were more of them.
