This book is a must for anyone who is interested, facinated, or just curious about the history of our country. One of the most overlooked in many ways, this book tells the complete story and background of the war of 1812. Like the Korean war. The war of 1812 except for the birth of what became our national anthem, takes the back seat to the Civil War and the war with Mexico. Just as the Korean war takes a back seat to WWII and Vietnam. Without the war of 1812 our nation would not have became the world power nor have survived to come together after the struggle between the states. Our nation would have gone down as a failed attempt to break from the Crown. This book brings to life a part of our history we all should know. It takes you back to the time and place of one of Americas most important and pennicle times..Makes a great read.Read full review
