I enjoyed the movie, however after being a fan of the original TV series I hold this series as the standard. The acting is good but with the exception of BA the 3 remaining cast members aren't as close to the originals as I would have expected. This is particularly the case with the Col. where the British accent just doesen't fit. Face is also out of character with the original series, where he would never have gotten himself into a situation where he would be beaten. Definitely an OK movie but not as good as the original.
Fans of the show will love the "origin" of the A-team. Updated to reflect the current Gulf Operations as oppossed to the Vietnam war, but retaining all the great cammradie of the originals. The characters are still familiar and the action amped up to reflect modern sensibilities. A few differences: These guys shoot and kill on occassion. But BA is still afraid to fly, Murdock is still nuts, Face still gets the girls and Hanniable still loves it "when a plan comes together". The Alpha-Team is renowned for their exploits both within the army and outside it. Successfully completing 80 missions for the army, this crew proves they know how to get the job done right. But they're about to tackle one mission perhaps they should have let go. While winding down the latest Iraqi War the team is approached by the mysterious CIA operative, Lynch. Lynch informs them that a cadre will be transporting stolen money/gold plates out of Iraq. With these plates they'll be able to print money and finance globabl terrorist activites for years. Lynch appeals to the A-team to steal the plates and return them before the cadre can escape. Of course the team agrees, much to the dismay of their commanding officer and the bemusement of a black ops team, known as Black Forrest. (the A-teams mercemary rivals) The heist goes down but before the team can deliever the goods Black Forrest arrives and steals them from them just as the army arrives to find the A-team and accuse them of stealing the plates for themselves. Framed for a crime they didn't commit and sentenced to military prison for ten years, the team promptly escapes to go try and clear their names. Pursued by the military the team races to find the stolen gold plates and the mysterious "Arab" who seems to have masterminded the crime with Black Forrest. Will the team take these guys down, retrieve the plates and clear their names? Watch, enjoy and find out!!Read full review
One of the best films of the summer season. Even better than the TV series even if you haven't viewed it. The plot is stupendous and the action is heart-thumping and non-stop. If you are a fan of Liam Neesan, you won't be disappointed. He is perfect in the role of Hannibal, and fans will thrill to see him back in the saddle of a perfect action-adventure/thriller/suspense film.
I remember as a kid being so excited to watch these guys every week. I got the movie and we watched it and it was entertaining and dead ended. Nothing was resolve. So the A-Team is still a mystery team that you can "hire" if you need help. IF you can find them.... It was a movie. it's over now., happy I spent under 5.00 for the movie.
