This is yet another action movie with Dwayne Johnson (The Rock). I have pretty much thought that all of his movies are pretty much the same. I do admit that I honestly like this movie. He costars with Seann William Scott in this one, which gives it a great comedic edge to it. In The Rundown you have Beck (The Rock) who is a bounty hunter wanting to be chef. He is hired by a man wanting his son back into the states. His son Travis (Seann William Scott) doesnt want to be home and is basically hiding in the Amazon. Beck's only goal is to get Travis back home because Travis's father has agreed to help him create his dream of becoming a chef in his own kitchen. Travis's only goal is to track down the legendary "Gautau" (meaning cat in some other language, in which i probably spelt it wrong). Well, while tracking down Travis, Beck comes across a 'drug lord' like man who is rampaging the Amazon community. The villages only savor would be to have the Gautau, a very priceless artifact, to basically pay for everyone freedom. So Beck and Travis in the end team up along with some woman (I believe she is Travis's girl) to track down the artifact. There is alot of fighting (martial arts and just plain ass beatings) and explosions in this movie. There is also some funny monkeys that want a piece of the men and sleep/halucination inducing fruit. All in all, this movie isnt a bad one to own for anyones personal dvd collection.Read full review

Dwayne Johnson (The Rock) displays unexpected comic timing and a commanding screen presence. The back-and-forth between the two main characters is engaging and quite amusing. Christopher Walken puts in his typical solid whacko performance as the bad guy. Nice entertainment without a bunch of gratuitous sex and violence.
In order to get out of hock with mobster Billy Walker, restaraunteur-turned-"retrieval expert" Beck has to go down to Brazil and retrieve Billy's ne'er-do-well archaeologist-wannabe son Travis, who is searching for an ancient gold idol called the Gato del Diablo. This idol is prized by not only the local population as the path to their salvation, but by Cornelius Hatcher, slavedriving operator of the Helldorado mining town who oppresses said population in the name of profits, and Hatcher just won't let Beck leave with Travis. Gotta tell ya, folks, The Rundown is a whole lot of fun. This movie is funny from start to end. If you love action and comedy then you will love this movie. Take my advice and see this movie you will have a great time.
