Very interesting story by one of Hitler's 2 senior secretaries. Well worth the read, but sad that this woman was misled by Hitler and appeared to suffer while working for him for 13 years. While not maintaining her innocence, to the end Christa Schroeder maintains her total lack of complicity in any 3rd Reich actions. I did finish the book wondering what is left unsaid.

We take it for granted the stories we hear about Adolf Hitler but this book really sheds new light on what it was like to be in close contact with Hitler & what he really was like. Highly recommended for those readers who have a keen interest on seeing the other side of the story about the man who ruled Germany during the Nazi years. Just a great book to read.

A very good book about the other side of Hitler that I was unaware of. It is told from a nonmilitary point of view. It gives insight to his pre-war personality verses the war years from a woman's point of view.
