Allen Mandelbaum's astonishingly Dantean translation, which captures so much of the life of the original, renders whole for us the masterpiece of that genius whom our greatest poets have recognized as a central model for all poets. Elegant and compact...
I have just begun reading several translation of The Divine Comedy--so far, this one is my favorite. I have a hardback edition and appreciate its compactness (all three parts in one volume helpful notes on each canto provided in the back).
