I used to have this on vinyl many years ago and decided to buy again on CD. I wasn't disappointed. Although EC has never been my go-to guitarist if I want a shot of the blues, over the years he has produced some exceptional work. "Just One Night" is a great live album and kicks off with a really storming version of "Tulsa Time." If you are a Clapton freak you will have this already. But, if you are just starting out on your "Clapton Journey" you will do a lot worse than to get yourself a copy of this CD. I love the remastering too.

Great singing and an interesting contrast in guitar styles between Clapton and Albert Lee. Slightly thin sound for me but very enjoyable to listen to if you like material whose smooth Fender Stratocaster twang and Yamaha electric grand piano vibe does not make too many demands on your inner ear. Clapton was deep in his heavy drinking phase at this time (1979) and perhaps that shows in his lead playing which is for the most part competent but not exceptional. Even so this eclectic collection is well worth having as a milestone on rock guitar's elder statesman's long and winding road at the end of what had been a tough decade since the demise of Blind Faith.
Ladies and Gentlemen please have a warm hand for the wonderful JUST ONE NIGHT, the best Eric Clapton's album..... there is nothing that sound claptonesque like this album..... JUST ONE NIGHT is what you need to hear if you desire to understand why only CLAPTON could be God.......
my vinal collection is impecable , only play them once or twice and while doing it used to transfer them to good quality cassettes then play them till they broke or got chewed up then did it all again these older albums are gradually appearing and as they do i buy them . wont ever sell my vinal though . excellent album though .
