A detail, day to day account of the WWII battle between the Soviets and Germans for control of Budapest.
There has not been a great deal written, at least in English, about the 120 day siege of Budapest near the end of WWII. This book does provides a lot of the historical details of the horrendous damage to the city and the suffering of it's civilian population (35000+ dead).
