John Walk has done it again with this outstanding reference work. This is part of a 3 part set, which depicts most of the work of the Fenton Glass company, since it's start in 1909. Fenton is a very prolific company, in that they have made thousands of art glass products. Each and every one a work of art. Mr. Walk shows photographs of all of the Fenton pieces, including the various colors produced; and, gives important details about each item, such as: The color code, Year of manufacture, the Fenton Mould number, the market price, and in some cases historical information. This book works hand-in-hand with the other three works, to give a complete historical synopsis of Fentons long history of fine glassware; and, is invaluable in determining year of manufacture, and pattern information. No collector or dealer in art glass should be without this incredibly informative work.Read full review
I've become interested in Fenton glass and thought it would be very helpful in my studing and researching. I also bought the 2 other books in this set,I never thought they made so many pieces,I've enjoyed going back to the books repeatedly. I always heard my dear and loving grandmother say,"If you keep learning something new every day, it will help keep you young." She lived to be almost 102 years young.I hope I can follow in her footsteps, she took care of herself almost till the very end,and I loved her dearly. In comparison to other books,I just like this set and I know there are more,I will study every one I can get my hands on. To everyone who reads this, HAVE A GREAT DAY.!!
I have always been a Fenton glass collector, and recently retired and decided to buy/sell on Ebay. There was much more to Fenton than I realized so I sought out a reference book. I had asked a fellow Ebayer about a Fenton item I had listed and she said she found it in this book. So, I purchased the book. I love the colored illustrations, the descriptions of the items and the suggested current day value. It is a solid, hard cover book with oodles of information. I have researched numerous items I have been selling and was able to obtain accurate descriptions for my listings on Ebay. There is nothing I dislike about the book - it was a worthwhile investment for me.
Lovely book with many color photographs, very useful if you collect Fenton glass, but price guide is out of date, fun to look through.
