This book, Inside the Wire (unable to italicize or underline the title) is very well written, easy to read. I couldn't put the book down. The author really opens up and describes the differences in interrogation techniques between different government agencies. It showed that many American soldiers and U.S. agencies had ineffective training when it came to interrogation. The author further describes the many Geneva Convention violations that were committed by the Bush Administration and our Military leaders simply due to "semantics." The U.S. Government and our Military establishment got away with extreme torture techniques. Honestly, the information in this book made me ashamed to call myself a US citizen under the Bush administration. This book opened my eye in why Muslims hated Americans. I gained an understanding into the many differences in attitudes and beliefs of Muslim religion and to the understanding that there would not be peace in the Middle East in my lifetime, or in my child's lifetime. There are no easy answers or explanations as to why we went to war or the reason we are holding these detainees. I urge everyone to pick up this book and read it. D.N.B.
