This book was originally published in 1964. I was still in the US Military at that time. I was impressed with the efforts by James Donovan to assure that Colonel Abel received a fair trial and the full measure of the laws of the United Sta. His efforts were met with some opposition and severe criticism. The character of Donovan and Abel is displayed throughout the book. I was particularly impressed with Colonel Abel it left me with a profound respect for him. I constantly reminded myself of his conduct as a military soldier while I served in the service of the United States. I would recommend this book for anyone over fifteen years old.

The book "STRANGERS ON A BRIDGE" focuses on the trial of Colonel Abel much more than the Tom Hanks movie BRIDGE OF SPIES. It's an excellent read. FRED GALLANT
