I really enjoyed this book. It dealt with primarily President Bush's early years of his polical career (even the loses) of both himself and his father and then on to the start of his career in the oil industry and then to the ownership of the Texas Rangers. He explains the thought process that brought about these decisions. It was co-written by Karen Hughes who would become a part of his governership and presidential teams and it is written in a very logical and interesting manner. It then moved on to the years covering his governorship. What I enjoyed most was the positive way he described his dealings with both sides of the political spectrum, including some thought provoking decisions he had to make. There was not the name calling as is so often seen in politics (something that was not accorded to President Bush. The book ended with his decision to run for the presidency. He also touched on his marriage to Laura, his parents and siblings, and his daughters. It was a very revealing look into the man and the values instilled in him by his parents and the love he has for his wife and daughters. How refreshing.Read full review
