It's about time, that these fabulous cartoons were out on DVD! I loved these shows when they were on TV, back in the mid to late 1980's. They are superbly animated! I think they are about as well done as Disney films. I like these shows because they mix fantasy with real issues that children must face, as they grow up. At the end, there is always "a moral to the story" presented in a simple way. These shows are an inspiration. She-Ra shows that a woman can be strong, as well as beautiful & intelligent. She is a very positive roll-model for young girls (& boys!) The male characters on the show are portrayed as daring and gentlemanly. (Example: "The Sea Hawk" was an evil pirate, that She-Ra convinced to do good. And, he is dashing, to say the least!) She-Ra is the long-lost twin sister of "He-Man", who had his own show, but he did cross-overs to visit his sister on her planet. (Yes, she is on another planet, which is part of the story about how he found her!) He-Man ran for two full seasons with 65 episodes each one, and She-Ra ran for only 1 and 1/2 seasons. Both characters had a line of neat toys, and were in a Christmas Special and an animated feature length film, "The Secret of The Sword". "For the Honor of Grayskull- I am She-Ra!" Enjoy the adventures of wonderful characters with caring hearts, beauty inside and outside, strong physically and mentally and well-acted scripts. When the Filmation studios quit animating these wonderful shows, television cartoons went downhill, in my opinion. There will never be shows as good as these.Read full review
I decided to buy this box-set because I had loved the series as a child. I was one of those little girls running around with a plastic sword and shouting "For the honor of Grayskull!” This box-set features the first thirty two episodes of the series, including the five part episode The Secret of the Sword, where She-Ra is introduced to her special powers, her tragic history and her brother Adam. The quality of the episodes are great and they brought back all the good old memories of childhood. I was surprised at the amount of special features on the DVD’s, it being such an old series, but there are commentaries, documentaries, games and DVD-Rom features, such as comic books and coloring books and more. This is one I’d recommend for anyone who wants to reminisce about the good old days of childhood, or anyone wanting to share an old favorite with the next generation.Read full review
I have waited for years and years for Sher-ra to come out on DVD, and they finally have. And they are as good now as they were 20 years ago. She-ra is the twin sister to He-man, and twice as cool if I may say so. The show focuses on strong morals each episode, always with some sort of message to the watcher about friendship or loyalty or kindness. The show has made a wonderful transfer to the DVD medium. If you are a She-ra fan, you won't regret adding this to your collection and reliving a childhood favorite. If you've never seen it but love cartoons, don't mistake this for a sissy cartoon. She-ra kicks butt. If you have kids, get this for them. They don't make cartoons like this any more. She-ra rules!
high-quality and in great shape

well , if you like he man , then you might like she ra. its the girl power up version of he man - except with a skirt and sword. she ra aint hard on the eyes either! the animation is of course out dated ; but back in the 1980's that was the state of the art animation. if you like hi tech vehicles mixed in with mythical fantasy about good versus the bad (ugly). then this might be made for you. however since we live in the 21st century and are used to hi tech animation - it might be hard to watch the backward tech animation. i didnt like all the occult and magic stuff; other than that it seems ok. God bless you - JESUS LUVS YA - JOHN 3:16 AL KENG
