This hood is very well made and finished. I did not even have to install it to the fireplace. It "hooked" over the top of my fireplace screen and the screen is heavy enough to hold it in place. The whole process could not have been easier. My only "gripe" (not their fault) is that I thought it was supposed to project 4 1/2". Actually it only projects 4". No matter, it is a very nice hood and I am very happy with it.
