Three Imperial Guard stories from early in the Black Library. All three feature orks, a somewhat overused adversary for the Guard. Mitchell Scanlon's Fifteen Hours is the grimmest and tightest, focusing on a single recruit. I've reviewed Steve Lyon's Death World featuring Catachans elsewhere, but it's a fun read. The highlight is Steve Parker's Rebel Winter, a more large-scale book featuring local rebels as well as orks and giving a closer look at the Vostroyan Firstborn. Each novel is accompanied by a related short story by the same author. Excellent reading for any Guard fan.
