JAPANESE ANTIQUE 19th CENT MEIJI RARE SHIBAYAMA STYLE FINE QUALITY CARVED OX BONE OKIMONO, This sale is for asuperb antiquevery well carved antique ox bone okimono with stunning details and shibayama style inlays, the subject is of beautiful song bird perched on a branch with a blooming summer flower, this whole piece is carved from the finest quality antique ox bone including the branch of which has been stained , the song bird has inlaid eyes and anamazing shibayama amber tear drop streaming down its breast, the tear drop looks like its about to fall into the bud of the flower of which is also inlaid with shibayama amber,this fantastic ox bone okimono sit on a very nice double stand of which it is pinedfrom the bottom of one branch making this fine piece swivel half way around the stand when pulled back, This really is a fine example of Japanese craftsmanship at the highest level, size 11cm length, condition very good,
