This is a very high quality large antique 19th century Victorian handmade wooden writing desk box set.
It is very rare, ornate, and made with an abundance of intricate detailing throughout.
the box has very large, lovely shaped, and very detailed hand cut hinged on the box.
They are held by many bronze rivet studs mounting them to the box.
the domed shaped wooden piece on the top and the flat piece underneath both open on hinges revealing the inside.
there is also a key hole and key on the domed top which operated the locking mechanism.
under this section is two square shaped glass inkwells with silver lids.
in-between them is a matching ink blotter with very ornate detailing.
it sits recessed into the base and has a storage section underneath, this section runs all the way under the inkwells as well so it is a nice sized space.
under the flat hinged piece is more storage and sections for other writing items.
the box has acquired a lovely patina from age and measures 11 1/2 inches long by 9 inches wide by 6 1/2 inches tall.
the box is in nice antique condition, there are a couple edges of the metal hinges missing but not too noticeable, refer to photos.
also the small routed edge running around the bottom has a couple small chips.

buyer is responsible to file insurance claims via USPS, if package arrives broken or damaged, due to USPS\'s new policies the broken or damaged package has to be present when filing claims.
