Late 1800s/early 1900s 14k Gold Black Enamel Pearl Flower Pendant / Brooch:
late 1800s/early 1900s 14k Gold Black Enamel Pearl Flower Pendant / Brooch
Presented is a fabulous antique 14 karat gold, enamel and pearl pendant or brooch. This is an American made piece, dating to the late 1800s or early 1900s. The pin is done in the form of a beautiful flower with matte black enamel decorated petals. In the center of the flower is a real, natural seed pearl, surrounded by delicate black-tipped stamens or pistils (I'm not a botanist). The pin has a lever catch style safety clasp in the back, as well as a hook/open bail so it can be worn as a pin or a pendant.
The pin is in great condition. The enamel is in very good shape, there is maybe one very tiny flake to the tip of one petal, or possibly this is original, but either way it is very hard to distinguish. The clasp functions well and closes securely.
The pin is stamped and guaranteed 14k on the clasp, as well as the maker's mark for Hedges.
The pin measures about 1 3/8 inches in diameter.
The pin weighs 10 grams.
